Everyone has the right to request the digital accessibility of the website or any element thereof. They may also request that information be made available using an alternative access method, for example, the reading of a digitally inaccessible document, description of the content of a video lacking an audio description, etc. Such a request should contain the details of the person making it, indication of the website or mobile application to which it relates, and a means of contact. If the person making the request needs to obtain information using an alternative access method, they should also indicate a suitable method. The public body should comply with the request without delay, within not more than 7 days of the request. Building administrator: Konrad Jacek (e-mail: konradjacek@amu.edu.pl, tel. 61 829 3735) Description: Near the entrance to the building (at a distance of about 5 metres) is one parking space for disabled people: in the inner car park in front of the main entrance to the building from Powstańców Wlkp. Street.

The main entrance to the building:

  • has steps with handrails;
  • requires the use of steps, but a ramp is located on another side of the building, on Kościuszki St., at the main entrance to the Novum Language Library.
  • The ramp entrance leads to level 0 in block C; to ascend the stairs (two sets of four steps) from level 0 (main lobby) to the lifts serving levels –1 to 6 in block A and levels –1 to 5 in block B, a stair lift can be used, located between block C and blocks B/A.

Inside the building:

  • there are stairs having handrails on both sides;
  • there are lifts giving access to all levels and parts of the building;
  • the lifts have voice announcements and Braille control buttons;
  • there are toilets adapted for disabled people:
    • 1 toilet on the ground floor (main lobby) in block B;
    • 1 toilet on the ground floor (main lobby) next to the lifts in block A;
    • 1 toilet on each floor in the Language Library.

The information system for people with sensory disabilities includes:

  • Induction loops for people with hearing disabilities, installed in rooms;
  • Door plates with room numbers in Braille and information in QR codes;
  • Screens in the lobbies displaying information for university students and employees.

Guide dogs may be brought into the building, with restrictions on access to laboratories from which animals are excluded in accordance with health and safety regulations.

  1. Accessibility of entrance to building and passage through control areas
  2. The building has three entrances. The main entrance is via steps from Grunwaldzka Street, where the main doorkeeper’s lodge is situated. Also on Grunwaldzka St. is an entrance suitable for disabled people, leading directly from the street. There is also an entrance from the car park, where a lift from ground level can be used.
  3. 2.Accessibility of corridors, stairs and lifts
  4. The building has wide corridors; stairs are accessible with chair lifts for disabled people in case of a need to evacuate the building. There are three wide lifts suitable for wheelchair users.
  5. Adaptations
  6. A platform enabling a disabled person to access the cloakroom and cafeteria; induction loops in some rooms.
  7. Location and manner of use of parking spaces designated for disabled people
  8. Two spaces are located in front of the entrance to the building in the large car park, accessed from Śniadeckich and Święcickiego Streets.

Teaching Building at Al. Niepodległości 24

  1. 1.Accessibility of entrance to building and passage through control areas
  2. The building does not have a control area (there is no doorkeeper’s lodge). Each student has an access card granting access to their classrooms from the corridor. Rooms have Braille signs.
  3. Accessibility of corridors, stairs and lifts
  4. Each corridor can be accessed by stairs or by lift.
  5. Adaptations
  6. The building has a ramp for disabled people, leading to the corridor where the lift is located; there are no platforms, voice announcements or induction loops.

  8. The building has a parking space for disabled users.
